Hello all
I was interviewed today and was invited again on Thursday for a potential offer review, tour of the firm, and meeting some of the staff. When asked about my salary requirements, I stated that I wasn’t sure about the market average and I would get back to him. I asked if he had a range and he said no as long as it isn’t too outlandish. Average pay for project accountants make $58K according to google. My area tends to be a very slight higher area.
The recruiting and benefits coordinator already know I make 54K right now with my current position (I made a mistake and slipped up and mentioned it). He felt that the current job listing lined up with that.
Would I be able to or out of place to ask for 60K and if denied shoot for the average of 58K? As well as negotiate the benefits of 401K matching & paid time off.
