My teenager wants to work at the same fast food place her friend works at. She asked her friend if she would bring her an application. The friend told her that it would look bad, that she should pick it up herself. The friend made it sound like she wouldn't get hired unless she picks up the application herself.
I think that her friend probably doesn't want to bring her an application because she doesn't want her to work there. It's been a few years but when I applied at several retail and fast food places, it didn't matter who picked up the application because you got the application from whoever was at the counter or cash register. If you asked to talk to a manager and ask the manager for an application they would get irritated and tell you to get it from the employee at the counter.
Have things changed? Do you really need to pick up a fast food application in person now?
