TLDR at bottom. This isn't supposed to sound ranty just one thing after another in a short time span.
It's a small business which I was initially excited about but the company is a wreck. I'm pretty sure they aren't going out of business or anything but the day to day is a mess. My boss has only been there for a few months and constantly blames me for not knowing where certain files are, which were saved from long before I was there, a lot of which are the owners personal utilities or things like that (like the owner drives a 100k+ Audi and other stuff but had his water shut off to both his houses because "we" lost the bill). My job duties are constantly changing, I was going to learn and move the company to quickbooks when I was hired; I took a lower pay than I wanted because I thought I would have a lot of time to learn a new skill. Then I was making a cloud storage system to move the files off google drive (which apparently means I should know where 10 gigs worth of specific pdf files are) a two week time line given for this. I worked here for two when that decision was made. Now they want to drop all their outsourced HR and bookkeeping by the end of the year and have me do that myself in quickboooks to save money. I still haven't learned quickbooks. And I still haven't finished a cloud storage system from scratch. I was a mathy business student, not IT or accounting. I can't stand my boss and want to get a new job but its only been a month and I honestly don't know if that's just how work is.
TLDR; Basically I got work in a dumpster fire, hired by someone who was hired to put it out. I can tell they don't know how or it's too big and then hired me to do it. Now I'm expected to take on a ton of responsibility in fields I'm not prepared for. It's been a month. New job time or that's life?
