Hi, I think I’ll be expecting a call soon for a job I had interviewed not to long ago. They seem like they might hire me but problem is I’m not happy about the salary they stated in the interview. I wrote down what I expected knowing that they’re going to go lower but I didn’t expect them to go $300 lower. I asked for $150 more from what they offered and they just bluntly told me “Oh but that’s the basic salary we are offering”
I was pretty dumbfounded and just reluctantly agreed. Now I thinking about it, I don’t think I just deserve a basic salary. I should be getting more as yes I do not have much relevant work experience but I have transferable skills from my previous jobs and what I studied in university had some relation to what this company is doing which I mentioned in the earlier parts of the interview. Plus, I got a masters too.
So my question is, should I renegotiate on the phone?
