Is real estate a good job field to get into? Is getting a real estate license hard to do?

I make okay money, but I'm tired of my abusive job and I want more freedom. I've been thinking about being a real estate agent, and Google only tells you so much and isn't always accurate. Is the testing hard, and is it worth it in the long run? I'm in Alabama if that makes a difference.
