Got a Verbal offer from a big 4 consulting firm. How long does it typically take to get a formal offer and is it possible that they will rescind it?

As the title says, I got a verbal offer from a big 4 firm a couple days ago and now I’m just paranoid that it will never come to a formal offer just because “it would be just my luck”. Can someone give me any perspectives or experiences with verbal job offers. Thank you
