I got a new job, doing something I like. I've been here for a very short time, but during these few weeks I've been dreading going in. The environment is depressing. I love the kids I see and work with(teaching), but my coworkers are the problem. Its a very small team, and this includes two people who interviewed me. One is helpful and the other is not really. I feel like she is waiting for me to fail. Anytime I try to join in on a friendly convo on anything like coffee or movies, she sort of detaches me from it by saying okay go work. I don't get why she would hire me if she won't help me with anything. It feels so fake and awkward. Another coworker followed her lead and doesn't like to talk to me either. There is literally like 5 of us and 3 like me(one of these 3 is the only one helping me with everything) , 2 sort of ignore me. I do not understand why they ostracize me. So I've begin to look for other jobs.
What else I'm factoring in -is that the what I actually do is excluded from the job description that I applied for. It isn't awful or bad, just not what I was looking for. But the company and title will look good on my resume in terms of growth.
