I graduated in the spring and have been job searching for a few months with a few possible leads. Most of them seemed legit until I actually went on an interview. The job posting was on ZipRecruiter for a "Sales Account Manager" and I have seen a few other posts regarding fake postings. I don't believe that the posting was necessarily fake, however the company itself had absolutely no information on the internet other than what was posted on their website. What they actually did for clients was also very unclear. The woman who interviewed me described incredibly vague details on what the company did and basically said that they "worked with a few blue chip companies." The interview was very brief as they were interviewing quite a few people that day. After my interview I had quite a few questions and was still unsure what the company actually did. They also mentioned to me that I would start as an account exec. and become a GM within 6-10 months, which seemed odd in my opinion. The entire set up seemed like a pyramid scheme type deal to me, but I could be totally wrong. Has anyone else interviewed for these positions and found similar results?
