Just realized my resume is inaccurate (forgot about 5 month employment gap with same company many years ago) post job offer and in the midst of the background check.

My first job in the field was many years ago. During that time I interned and then was hired on by the same company after about a 5 month gap in employment. When I was initially writing up my resume I guess I left out that gap (completely forgot about it now being that it is years after I originally wrote my resume). Regardless the gap isn't in there or the background check info and my prospective employer is already processing my background check. Could this cost me the job? I'm freaking out but don't want to bring up something and have it look like I'm trying to cover myself when I just totally forgot.
