I’m trying to create a position for myself at a company I don’t work at

This is kind of a strange post lol, but I just got fired from a job I got right out of college. It seemed nice at first, good pay, but it just wasn’t a good environment for me and it affected my work. Not saying none of it was my fault but it just wasn’t a good fit.

I graduated from my college with a bachelors in journalism and mass communications and since then I’ve used it to look for jobs in digital marketing because I’m interested in it and I have experience in it freelance and with internships.I have a friend who works at another company that he loves. It’s very lucrative, in the medical industry and growing at a rapid rate, but still small enough to concern itself with employees on an individual level.

Everything sounds great from what he describes to me. I noticed that the company has virtually no internet presence. They’re not a B2C company so I understand not really having a use for Instagram, or Facebook, but they’re hardly present on LinkedIn. If you go on their site they have a “company news” section, but the last “news” article the put up was in 2014 only preceded by one in 2011. And from what I gather this company is very active and very involved with the community, but nobody documents it. To me this is a huge missed opportunity because no matter what the company is, a company will benefit from having a large, influential, public presence. Especially if they are super active, why hide it? This would also make the company look appealing to possible employees and other companies that could be possible clients.

This also leads me to believe they don’t really have an internal form of communicating to their employees. At least not an effective one. A company newsletter is very useful and a staple in many companies. I’m thinking of putting together a proposal and messaging the higher ups and those involved in hiring and proposing that they hire me to handle all this for them, and to make it my position in the company. What’s the best way I can go about this? Has anyone done something like this before? Any suggestions on who to contact and who not to contact? I don’t really need to hear that it’s unlikely or unadvisable if it’s not leading to some constructive advice. I have nothing to lose and they’re a very private company they have nothing on job boards. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
