Filled out 72 applications over the last 2 weeks, got more “thanks for trying” emails than anything....

I thought the job market was supposed to be really good?? More jobs than there are people? I have a decent history in sales and management/leadership. I’m trying to get as far away from cold calling/door knocking as possible. I get a LOT of phone calls from recruiters, specifically selling life insurance. I have no desire to do that.... That industry to me feels exactly like a pyramid scheme. They’re never entirely clear what you’re interviewing for until you get there, and then once it’s too late, you realize you’re being interviewed for insurance sales. Frustrating right now, to be looking for a job....
