Coworker did something weird, should I be worried?

So I had a meeting and at the end, I needed to make a copy of something. They give me directions that were the long route to the printer and said it was the shorter route. I was super confused because I thought the other way was faster but decided to just follow the orders because I didn't know what else to do. Was it meant to be a joke? If it was a joke how was I supposed to respond?
