Can you talk about tough life experiences in a job interview?

I'm interviewing for a job in a few days, and they have given me a few topics that i'll be asked about. They want to know about personal and professional examples about stress management and judgement. Would it be inappropriate to use my brother's mental health and addiction struggles as personal examples? My reasoning is that these stressful situations taught me to observe > think > act while trying to maintain everyone's safety and deescalate the situation. Would this be appropriate?
