I’m a recent engineering grad and got an entry level job before graduation. It was nice having a job before leaving but I wasn’t excited for the next chapter in my level or the job. I was only excited to finally make money. I guess I wasn’t excited because I really liked college. I like learning, being with my friends, and enjoying the overall experience. I guess I could go to grad school, but I wanted first to work. So I was sad it was over.
The work I do isn’t exciting. I work for a small company. I don’t hate the work that I do but I don’t like it either. It’s just ok. The commute is pretty long as well, but I figured I’d say a lot of money than living close to the job (rural area so pretty boring).
The reason I am asking about depression is because I am wondering if it’s the depression making me dislike work or the actual work. I’m not excited to go to work. I dread the feeling on a Sunday night when I have to wake up and go to work the next morning. I looked up symptoms of depression and I don’t think I have it. I work out a lot. Have a social life (always look forward to the weekend). No suicidal thoughts. Good friends/family. Great hygiene/room is cleaned. But I am always tired probably due to commute and not get enough sleep. Anyway I’ve always felt tired throughout college but I figured it was because of my horrible sleep schedule. I guess I’m not passionate about my job and not satisfied. Any advice?
