I believe I filed 30+ applications this month so this is from my experience so far.
What really sucks about looking for jobs is most applications are online and not pen and paper anymore. The problem with this isn't because of my availability of internet access or a computer. (I have both, but for those who don't it can be a big hassle) is that because it's no longer pen and paper they throw all these big af applications at you with assessments after assessments. Each application is starting to take about 30-60 mins long. (I've had an application where one of the assessments they had me do was 50 mins alone)
Even after all the hoops you run through to turn in the app they still don't even give you a call or email. Not only that but what really irritates me is a job will say "urgently hiring" but after you apply you don't hear back anything and a month later they are still looking for people. Nothing annoys me more than when they turned down your app but say "we will keep your application on file for future employment opportunities" lol ok
Lastly it's how they communicate. I request they email because as said I have internet access and check my email about every 30 mins but I don't have a phone. But they usually never email and then they just call the number I listed (my mom's phone) and she doesn't get off until 4. Which Is usually when they are already off so I have to leave a voice mail saying "sorry I couldn't answer the phone, explaining the story, and giving them my email so they can get a hold of me" so what happens? They leave a second voice mail the second day saying "you didn't come to the phone again so you're not interested blah blah blah we wish you luck on finding employment blah blah blah."
