Psychologists/counselors of Reddit, How exactly do you gain your job satisfaction?

I'm a student looking into practicing pyschotherapy

So usually people tell individuals when seeking out careers, to follow their passion, purpose, etc. But for counselors and psychologists..your purpose is to essentially tell others to find their purpose and value into the world, so then....are you truly living?

You're essentially a coach on how to tell others on how to shape or live their lives in the most optimal way possible, but doing so how are you chasing after a purpose by telling others to find their own? It seems really paradoxical and it doesn't make sense to me. How can you tell others how to live, how to find they're purpose, if your purpose is telling them how to live out their purpose. I am mindfucked.
