Just had the worst interview.. is it red flag?

I had an interview for an entry level marketing position at a real estate company. The supervisor told me that they want this position to focus on their social media platforms, specifically Instagram. Right now, their Instagram is full of posts of houses and properties. They want this position to create more content on their IG, and representing the city more by posting local restaurants and events. So then I referenced how I used to manage the Twitter at the non-profit I used to work for. I would create content, and I specifically used an example about how we tagged a client and featured them on #NationalDonutDay because they were a donut business owner. After I told my example, the supervisor said my example was cheesy, and then continued on saying we should feature our clients in the IG posts. (But I literally stated an example of how I featured a past client).

Then in the middle of nowhere in the interview, he asks me what my ethnicity was. I’m like wtf? How is this professional?? I told him I’m Asian. Then he goes on and says oh my step dad is Asian and I have Asian friends. Okay how does that even relate at all to my interview? Would they even ask about my ethnicity if I was white? (The supervisor is white)

After that, I had a sour taste in my mouth. I feel embarrassed that the manager said my example was cheesy. And I’m annoyed he brought up my race. Now I feel like I’m not getting certain jobs because I’m the minority. Literally, every office I interviewed at, I was the only Asian one.

Am I being sensitive or is this a red flag???
