How many jobs did you apply to before you got an offer?

I have applied to 40 jobs and I have received 5 rejections. Is this normal in this day and age? Am I doing something wrong? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Edit: I’m not looking for an apples to apples comparison but if it helps I am applying to creative project manager type jobs in LA (currently in the Bay Area).
