Back story I used to work for this company a few years ago and I really liked the company but I left because I was young and didn't quite know what I wanted yet. Recently a friend of mine who still works there told me I should apply for an training/application engineer position they had been trying to fill for awhile now. Long story short I nailed the interview and really impressed them.
I got an offer today from them today, but it pays less than my current job. I figured it would pay a little more than the standard application engineer position because they said they needed someone who can do both. So I was pretty disappointed.
How should I go about putting in a counter offer? I'm not trying to bleed them dry I just wanna pay my bills also I think that I shouldn't get standard pay for being a dual purpose employee.
TLDR: I got offered a position at another position for less money than what I make now. How do I make a counter offer?
