Design Test for an interview, I feel like I am just doing work for free.

Hey everyone, in a job search here and needing advice.

There is a company I am interviewing at this week, this will be the first in-person interview, I previously had a phone interview with them. It went well but the company isn't one I am particular excited to work for, yet the position is one I would enjoy (UI/UX Designer, for a mortgage company). Everything was fine at first, until last week I was emailed a request to complete an assignment for the interview. Usually I am okay with the whole whiteboard test in an interview as they are always pretty minimal as far as actual work goes and they are usually only 30 minutes long. However, this test was to redesign the company's home page which I was requested to show my approach to preliminary research, an overview of my process, sketches, wire frames, and a high fidelity first draft.

I have already been told that this is the actual project I would be working on if I was to be hired anyway so it really feels like I am just doing work for free at this point. Also, I might add, that I am severely under qualified on paper for this role and I am still not sure how I even got the interview. I am fresh out of college and this job is requiring someone Senior as it is the only UI/UX Designer position on the team, much less the company. My worst fear is I do all of this work and then I get hit with the always inevitable "We are looking for someone with more experience" email. I know I can do this assignment and do it well but I feel like I can't justify actually doing it. Wondering what I should do. Thanks!
