Hey everyone! I'm hoping to get some opinions here.
I have a few applications for two contract to hire Project Management positions, one with a really big health insurance corporation and another with a large tele company (I'm sure you can discern who they might be by that).
I had one of the interviews (with the health company) and it went well. I did bring up the C2H portion and both the interviewers completely, 100%, adamantly agreed that the people they pick will (barring all unforeseen circumstances or poor performance- obviously) be moved to full-time status within the 3-6 month period.
They also stated that they already had the go-ahead from finance to staff the positions with full FTEs at the end of the contract phase (I understand the company could hit turmoil or shrink, which would ruin that).
I do have a full-time job, but I will not stay here forever and am ready for a move. I have no children but did talk to my wife about the change of no-hire after the contract phase, she's cool with it.
What do you guys think? Go for it, and worst case scenario I get some great PM experience on the resume, or wait it out for something else?
This is a great company and is constantly on the best places to work listing...
Pretty torn.
