Would it be risky to post on Craigslist seeking under the counter work?
I can elaborate further... I've heard under the counter jobs are quick to pay and hire you on the day of, typically landscaping and construction type work. I also understand some of these under counter jobs can have ex cons, illegal immigrants, drug addicts and potentially unsafe conditions.
Considering every job not under the counter describes the needs of a warzone, and anything paying you well (from my experience) is only doing so not because the actual work but the environment being filled with ex cons and poor management (just my personal experience) - essentially an environment of bullying and dog eat dog.
With that said I'm desperate, extremely hungry, becoming malnourished, already depressed, it's my own fault because I quit my last job.... It was unsafe, you got bullied for wearing basic protective gear like it made me less of a human being, you couldn't make anyone happy, they were miserable and anyone who saw you perform well treated you as a threat to their position. Before I could get off the street and back on my feet I was already quitting after 75 days.
So considering 2-4 months of our 12 months worked go to taxes, adding that to my stress...under the counter work just seems more honest, straight forward and logical for my situation needing money immediately. I get really scared about this though, because the feds and taxes ..so I'm not asking for anyone to give illegal advice.
What I am asking, is do you think someone posting on Craigslist asking for work with same day pay - would raise any eyebrows in the state/govt if they saw the posting? With or without under the counter pay being mentioned, you'd think same day pay was implicative to that right?
Thank you for any input, please be nice .. I'm not in a good headspace rn and just want to feel like a functional human.
