This is my first Reddit post, so Im sorry if I describe my situation poorly. I had to repost this because I forgot each subreddit has different rules.
I live in Long Beach, California.
I have some background in Customer Service, Logistics, Sales, Reception/Administrative Assistance, and Direct Marketing.
So I'm currently in a situation. I've been trying to find a job for nearly 4 months now, and it's getting ridiculous that I have yet to get ANYTHING. I am losing my mind. I've burned through my savings to pay bills, and now I'm trying to figure out how to pay rent. I used to live in the San Francisco Bay Area, and I NEVER had an issue finding a job. But out here it's just so competitive. Every time I get an interview I'm immediately told that a lot of people applied.
I just want to get some advice from anyone who has gotten through a situation like this themselves. I had a pretty good interview today, but now I'm waiting to hear back from them. Regardless, I can't just sit idle and wait for their response. I did that once before, and it cost me a potentially good opportunity.
I was thinking maybe my interviews just aren't strong enough, and yet I keep getting told I'm doing well. I even applied to work at a bunch of fast food restaurants, and NOT ONE of them got back to me...
On an interesting note, before I moved here, people in the Bay always joked about how cutthroat Los Angeles restaurants are. I applied to be a DISHWASHER at a restaurant, and they said no because I had no dishwashing experience on my resume.....I just don't know how I am supposed to get out of this, because I have never faced this issue before.
Is this normal for LA? Or am I clearly doing something wrong?
Thank you to anyone who can offer their help or insight!
