After 3 years in my position, I have made the decision to leave my miserable job and look for another. The biggest reason was the management of the department was terrible. They were constantly coming after people that they simply didn't like and making up criticisms of people, handing out performance improvement plans with no justification, yelling at people for working at home even though we were allowed to work from home 1 day a week per company policy (they would intimidate and make ppl feel uncomfortable if they did the 1 day a week work from home by making them feel they weren't committed to the job and by giving examples of others who never used the 1 day work from home even though the work can easily be done at home). Just in the last year, 5 people left and our department only has 20 people. The previous year 4 people left. I have enough money saved up that I can take some time and I have low expenses as I live with the parents. When giving my 2 weeks notice, any issues with just lying and saying I will be going to a new job and just making up a position and company? I know this might not usually be recommended but I am 100% not keeping in touch with these people whatsoever and would never want to come back to this department in the company and probably not the company either. I find it easier to say this then explain the truth.
