Career Change Option: Radiology Tech

I post a fair amount to people looking for information on starting a career in radiology under the r/radiology subreddit. I thought I would post one link here to see if it is helpful since this seems to be a source for people looking for a career change.

In radiology, and healthcare in general, our needs are growing fast. The retiring baby boomer generation is outpacing the amount of technologists we can hire for Xrays, CT scans, MRI, Ultrasound, and the rest of our department. We have schools in every state graduating technologists every two years but it isn't keeping up with our needs.

So, if you are interested in finding out more about what it takes to become an Xray Tech, CT Tech, MRI Tech, Nuclear Medicine Tech, PET scan Tech, Ultrasound Tech or Interventional Radiology Tech, here are some links:

  2. How would I pay for the school?
  3. How do you get accepted to rad tech school?
  4. What does the profession pay?
  5. I've heard about traveling techs, what's the deal there?
  6. Can I work full-time while going to Rad Tech school?
  7. What does a typical day look like for a Rad Tech (hospital vs clinic)
  8. I've been in radiology over 15 years, here's why I chose the career.
  9. What are the best states to work in, if I become a Rad Tech?
  10. What are the dangers of being a Rad Tech?
