I’m 29 and have no idea where I want my career to go. I graduated in 2013 with a history degree thinking I wanted to teach but that quickly went away. Since then I’ve worked for a company that bought invoices (factoring), moved to Denver last year and briefly worked sales (cold calling, kill me) and now work as a leasing agent for a very small, family owned property management company. I do not want to work for this company anymore. There are no benefits other than getting free rent (I know, that’s a biggie), communication is extremely poor, and my boss is a dick and doesn’t give me proper structure. In other words I’m ready to move on but I have no idea what to move on to....
This is mainly an anxiety riddled rant with the hopes of finding encouraging words and any advice that can be given to someone like me.
