Hey all, was hoping to hear from some of you with a longer commute, about any tips you may have when it comes to avoiding burnout.
My commute is about two hours each way, from my door to the office. I start on Monday and super excited; comp is great, culture seems great, but it is a startup environment that tends to push it's employees to work very, very hard.
It's also at their office in a very high COL city, however with the compensation I'm receiving I could definitely afford to rent (I'm currently living rent-free with my parents), I was just hoping to wait-out my probation period as a new hire.
Should I try and commute for as long as possible and really save while I still have the chance to live with my parents? Or should I move out if I start feeling burned-out?
I commuted to university in the same city for a couple of years and I was constantly exhausted, stopped eating healthy and going to the gym, etc, but I don't blame that entirely on the daily commute and grind.
Any advice is welcome
