So Im currently a junior at Texas State pursing a BS in Biology, with a minor in Psychology. Im going to graduate next May and im interested in working in in the field of clinical research in Texas. I currently work as a Research Assistant for a psychology lab on campus, and by the time I graduate, I will only have a year and 3 months worth of research experience. This summer, Ill be doing an independent research study and will be presenting my findings as a poster. I do have my phlebotomy certification so I dont know if that will help in anyway, and my gpa should be around a 3.42 by the time I graduate. I also volunteer at a small clinic in the Hospice department. I wanted to know if anyone had any advice in terms of breaking into clinical research?
Edit: Optimally, I'm looking for options that wont involve me having to get a graduate degree right off the bat. I'm also working as a Resident Assistant for the university ( pays my housing and food) and I don't have a car, so its going to be very difficult for me to get any "clinical" research experience before I graduate (I rely on the university bus system). I don't think I can juggle school, my job, the psych lab, volunteering and my leadership positions while trying to fit some extra clinical experience in.
