How do I go about flying across country for an interview with not alot of money?

I applied for a healthcare position across country. I have a phone interview tomorrow. I looked up the hiring process on Indeed and it said that they usually do a phone interview followed by an in person tour of the facility a couple days later and ask some other questions. Overall, they mentioned the hiring process is very casual. The position is highly specialized but there are alot of other candidates in the market. (Occupational Therapist).

But that doesn't change the fact that I am across the country.

If I do well on the phone interview, and they invite me to tour the facility how do I respond? I am definitely interested in the position but I am really low on my savings now that I have to use for moving/logistic expenses. I don't want to spend $400 on a plane ticket to find out I didn't get the job.

On the other hand, if I am willing to spend $400 on a plane ticket to fly across country to tour the facility for the 2nd interview does that make me look like a good candidate? That I am showing I really want the job? Also what kind of negotiating power do I have to ask if they can cover my plane trip/stay or even a skype interview?

Should I even mention a skype interview at all? Will it make me look bad?
