Hello everyone,
I would really appreciate your professional input on my story.
I have majored in electrical engineering and graduated in the summer of 2016.
A year before my graduation, I started working at a company as a part time employee (engineer). I started assisting the project manager, who also happens to be the operations manager, on a certain project.
The project was completed in the summer of 2017 and throughout this period, I was assisting the manager in other tasks that were not related to this project until he has officially asked me to assist him with everything he does since he was really impressed by the outcome of my work.
Basically, I do everything: managerial, operations, administrative, sales, marketing, project management and engineering tasks.
Since then, my title was and still is “electrical engineer”. I am finding trouble in putting myself out there since my scope of work is way beyond the technical tasks of a regular electrical engineer.
I have asked for a title change almost a year and a half ago and still haven’t received a feedback.
The latest feedback was to suggest a title and I cannot find an accurate one that literally describes all the tasks that I handle.
Not to mention that I am a certified associate in project management (CAPM from PMI), I am a PMI member and volunteer and I am currently studying for the PMP certification.
Please help me find the best title that will support me in my career path.
