Job evolution has resulted in lack of clarity for job duties.

I started a job with a very vague idea of what was in my duties. Over time, the job has changed, and in many ways become more difficult. There are no clear descriptions to the limit of these changes or even if some of the tasks are relevant to the job anymore. Some of the tasks I have taken on, because I know they are deliverables in the project I work on, and no one was doing them. Has anyone been in a similar situation? What is your advice?
