Two months ago, I quit my job that I hated and moved across the country to be with my friends. I'm a bartender in a large city and had interviews almost every day. It didn't take me long to find a really promising job that was set to star soon. I worked a couple small gigs while I waited. Two days before I was going to start, I got a call that my mother was gravely ill. I immediately dropped everything to come home and help.
Since then, I've have applied for every job in my field I can find in the area. All of which I have more than qualified for with years of experience and a bachelor's. I've even applied for some jobs I'm not really qualified for but think I could fake in an interview.
Nothing. Money's running out and I'm running out of hope. I'm starting to think it's a sign I should switch fields, but then I'm even more lost. I checked the civil service exam, but I'm 8 days late.
I don't know what to do. I don't even know where to start.
