Immigrant friend is getting his job offer 2 days before starting canceled after he gave his two weeks notice at his current job because of high school diploma requirement that wasn’t specified in the job Ad
So basically my friend has a ton of experience working at assembly jobs, and he had gone to a job fair for a post on Indeed that clearly said in the requirements section he can either have a high school diploma or 3 years of relevent experience. At no point during the entire hiring process was he ever told he needed proof of his high school diploma since he graduated 29 years ago in a foreign country and has never been asked for it in any of his jobs, and the indeed ad said he can have 3 years of experience instead which he has plenty of. Now they are threatening to cancel his job offer after he gave his two weeks notice (which they said he should do) so now he has no job and is in danger of getting his job offer canceled. Is there any action he can do?
