Good Morning! I am in the job search process. I currently have a job, however it is a contract position and the contract is ending next Thursday, 2/28. I have an interview this afternoon with another company for a position that starts Monday, 2/25. However, I really like the company I am with. I applied to three jobs to become a permanent employee. One position I have passed the phone screen and was sent the online assessment. This was a basic grammar assessment so I know I passed. The next step is a face to face interview. I also have a phone screen set up for Thursday for another position within this same company.
The company I work for is a large, well known company. I love the atmosphere, the people, the benefits they offer, the pay, the location is great for me, and the positions are right in line with my degree. However I know their hiring process can sometimes be lengthy. If I am offered a position at the new company after my interview today, should I take it or should I wait on the interview process to finish out with my current company? The new company is further away in terms of location, as well as a significant decrease in pay, however the position is permanent, and the entry level position I'm in consideration for can lead to higher levels positions that match up with my degree. Any advice on this would be greatly appreciated!
