I have been unemployed for the past few months and have a solid journalism/media background. Recently I have been connected with VP's of major industry leading companies and people who run their own companies. Basically I get set up on phone calls to introduce myself to these people.
I know how to present and articulate myself over the phone as my previous position thrived on it. So I feel like they all went really well. My question is how can I turn these conversations into actual interviews or job offers.
For example I had a VP say he would set me up with hiring managers in multiple departments to introduce myself. That was almost a month ago. I haven't heard anything since. I have emailed him twice about jobs I applied for, to keep my name on his mind. I should note I had to schedule the initial phone call with this VP a month in advance.
Any advice would be great.
