So I’m leaving my company after only a few months... someone who is above me (but not my boss) was a total douche and got in my face and said he wished I hadn’t been hired and that I was stupid. I sort of got scared I was going to be fired and contacted a recruiter ASAP. Now I don’t think I’m going to be fired as my actual boss had a 1:1 with me the other day and said he thought I did a great job of stepping up...... but I think I still want to leave.
Anyways, my recruiter found me a great opportunity to be in a higher position with a higher salary. I’ve had a few interviews that went well and I’m hoping to find out I landed the job in a few days.
When/if this happens I’m sure I’ll be asked why I decided to leave in the exit interview. I WANT to say that someone I know offered me the opportunity of a lifetime and I couldn’t turn it down. I DONT want to say I got a recruiter or mention anything about job hunting, and I certainly don’t want to mention the tiff with with the d-bag.
Can I straight up lie like this/could this backfire?
