Scared to take vacation hours? Please help?

I was recently told that I have a LOT of vacation hours, that wont carry over until the new year. As I am the only one who can do my job, and direct a lot of employees, I worry that if I do take a vacation the work will pile up immensely by my return. A lot of things wont get done as well, and would really hurt the store I work at. What should I do?
