I didn't plan on this. I have a solid education with a Bachelor's and a Master's from a top 20 school in the US. I worked at a Big Four consulting company for 3ish years after graduation. I then moved to a new city with a new job in financial markets that was...hell. I left that after about 3 months.
The bottom line is that I burned myself out while in consulting but didn't accept that until I was in this terrible new job for work-life balance. Shout out to the workaholics! I didn't care about finding a job over the summer. I was on a mental break. I have been looking for 2ish months now for something less "challenging" but not totally off the beaten path (e.g. government job).
Any general thoughts on this transition? I know I'm lucky that I could take this time off but I don't want to be un-marketable. I have two "leads" that want to interview me but even they have been slow (2-3 days) to schedule an interview after contacting me.
