corporate Recruiter questions

I effin hate the past salary question. I know it's Normal to ask but I find it extremely invasive.

1. What would a decent response to that question be? I don't wish to disclose it but I just don't know how to respond without them thinking I'm hiding something

2. For salary ask, do you guys give ranges or exact? I hate this question prior to interview process too.

3. If their salary cap is lower (this is while on the initial recruiter call) than what you're looking for, so you ever come down? If so, by how much and how do you explain it? Or do you not?
