I’ve worked at multiple companies in the past 6 years and lately I’m finding it really hard to be motivated to go above and beyond.
I’ve been at this job (startup company) for 4 months and I notice people frequently staying late and coming in early and I just don’t have the motivation to do more than what needs to be done to meet a deadline. Sometimes I feel guilty for leaving at 6pm but I have an hour commute and don’t want to reach burnout (idk how these guys haven’t).
These things said, I just don’t see myself working 24/7 to make a company successful that I don’t own myself. I had a lot of ambition to climb the corporate ladder when I first got out of college but these days I just don’t care about promotions or managing a team.
