Normally I wouldn't give my number until the employer is willing to give their range so we can haggle, but a recruiter told me they Need my number in order to discuss the application with the company I'd be hired for. Fair enough, I guess.
I'm told there's no benefits included besides sick days vacation, so to include the cost of health insurance, 401k contribution, etc in my number. At my previous job I was making nearly 80k with full benefits. I should have made a bit more than that given my responsibilities, but the company was hemorrhaging money so a raise was impossible. I'm thinking of aiming for a 90-100k salary now, and calculate ~20k in benefits. Since I don't want to sell myself short I'm considering emailing the recruiter saying 120k. To me that sounds like a lot, but I don't know. I'm a mobile developer with 3 years experience, the job is in California doing mobile/web work for an "adult video" service, and I'd be working remotely.
