Interviewed and accepted a job on the 18th and had orientation yesterday the 25th. Explained what I was looking for and my credentials, and was told I matched a position that would be perfect.
I get a text from my Human Resources two hours after orientation (signing papers, etc), that the position I had applied and been accepted for was actually not available (they knew this either before or after my interview and did not tell me when I was taking this specific position??)
They said in the text “the position you took have these hours open, except no one is actually able to work there yet because of ____. Do you want to look at the other positions you can do?”
What. Do. I. Do. I told them almost immediately they should have told me or not listed the position at all if they were advertising it and setting me up to work, and then tell me it was never actually available, and not only two hours after I sign everything!!!
None of this is okay, I will not be making the amount I was told, working the position I was given, or working in the location or hours I need. Please tell me there is something I can do to get out of this. I don’t want to act irrationally but I feel absolutely disgusted that this happened and they knew the entire time!
