I am putting in my letter of resignation, effective immediately. What can I expect legally? (NY STATE)

I have been spoken to by the owner of my job in an unprofessional and demeaning manor in front of customers and coworkers twice within the past 6 months. This time, raised voice, f-bombs, mask covering only his chin. After this bought of yelling, I grabbed my things, texted the manager that I’m not coming back, and I have submitted my letter of resignation effective immediately.

I am technically considered a “manager” but I don’t have a team to manage as I’m the only person in my department. I haven’t signed anything expressly stating that I am required to give notice of any length, however I can’t help but feel like I’m going to get in trouble.

This experience was an absolute nightmare, I will not be putting it on my resume or using this employer as a reference in the future.

Any advice would be appreciated. If this sort of thing doesn’t belong on this sub, I understand.
