How to go about a change in Career Fields?

Hi All. This might be a bit of a long one.

So I've been working the IT field for about... 7 years now. I started off at a trade school which landed me my A+ and Net+, then immediately ended up working for an MSP contracted by the DOE as a field tech. From there, I enrolled into school to grab a basic Liberal Arts associates degree with the intent of getting a computer focused BA or BS, whichever would be the most affordable. I did both these things simultaneously until I had to leave the MSP and ended up doing a seasonal stint at a Retail IT space for the sake of finishing the last few credits of my degree with the more flexible hours. I ended up ending the season and finishing up my degree at the same time, and was immediately snatched up by a Corporate IT position offering an unheard of amount at the time for me (55k). Ended up working there for two years until the stress of a bunch of personal and work related things piled up into a depression that I couldn't cope with well. Ended up unemployed while trying to fix my brain for half a year, and when I finally felt decent enough I landed a position with another corporate IT spot... right on the cusp of Covid19 lockdowns changing the landscape of work to remote. This lasted a year until today, with the end of my contract rounding the corner.

Now... throughout this entire time, I have never really been a gigantic proponent of IT as a field. It was mildly entertaining figuring out how to solve IT problems and learning new technologies and such, but it was only something I didn't mind doing in the start, not something I had an active passion for. Over time, this "don't mind doing it" slowly but surely evolved to flat out disdain. I despise so many facets of IT now, from dealing with the same issues over and over, to the metrics based on the number of tickets one can squeeze out of any given encounter, to the constant filling out of these tickets in every scenario for every problem solved, to just dealing with technology as a whole. The only aspect that has genuinely remained satisfactory to me to a degree that it has kept me sane is the fact that I was able to help someone solve a problem. I always liked the social aspects of IT, the helping people with a problem, granting them a solution, just interacting with them, even if I didn't quite enjoy the frequency of these interactions I still enjoyed them as a whole.

This leads me to the question in the title. I am soon to be 28 years old and I haven't the foggiest idea as to what I can do. I have some ideas as aspects of a job I would like; such as the job being a "work until it's done" or a "maintain a status quo" type job wherein your performance isn't based on metrics but your ability to maintain upkeep of something, or you just work on your one project and when it's done you're done until the next one shows up without so much overlap. Something where there isn't necessarily an endless stream of paperwork to be done like with IT tickets. I'd personally rather a pile of paperwork with a clear end in sight than never knowing how much I'd have to do in a day. Something more directly helpful and less... empty feeling.

What do I do in this situation? What CAN I do? I can't afford to not be making a certain amount, because I live alone in NYC and have no fallbacks. I considered going even FURTHER up into IT but the thought of trying to juggle working while learning technologies well enough to test for and pass certifications for them makes me feel maximum stress. I just feel really really lost and haven't an idea as to what I can even jump ship to that can maintain me while being a breath of fresh air. I feel extremely trapped and I don't think I can keep this up.

tl;dr Don't like IT, don't know how to leave field to a different one without going down to minimum wage to support in the interim. Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
