Best approach to move positions within the company?

Hi everyone,

I am a 3rd year university student studying business and was lucky enough to land a job with one of Canada's big 5 banks last summer as an intern, and was offered to stay on part-time during the school year.

The company I work for offers many different student jobs and I would like to learn more about the other roles, meet people and overall beef up my resume. If I wanted to apply for new roles starting in summer 2021, would it be best to talk to my manager first, or reach out to the recruiters for the specific job postings to see which way is best?
