Leaving the Practice of Law: Where to Start?

I've been a practicing attorney for 2 years now in employment law in the Southeast US. I graduated from a top 25 law school. I've found, however, that I hate it. I won't belabor every point of why I dislike the job; suffice to say I am incredibly unhappy in it.

I'm ready to move on. My pay is not commensurate with the work I put in. I don't care if my work is "meaningful" or "impactful," just that I can provide a roof over my head. I don't know how to start a job search while still employed, so any advice is appreciated there. Also any advice on the guilt of leaving my colleagues "high and dry" (I'd provide ample notice, but can't help but feel bad based on the nature of my work). I don't know what jobs to look for. I don't know how to "spin" things or if potential employers would appreciate my honesty "I wasn't happy doing the work."

This is more open-ended than I originally intended, but any advice is appreciated.
