I have been working at BJ’s for what this week will make 4 weeks. However, this Saturday I am trying to find a way to take off without receiving any major repercussions. This Saturday I am scheduled to work 3:30-10:00. However, I have a doctors appointment(gyno) at 1:30 pm. I have been scheduled for this appointment since January of this year and I literally can’t afford to reschedule as I probably won’t be seen until like next year. Secondly, I have my cousins gender reveal that I’ve been planning since May. It’s just the worse weekend and I am pretty confident I forgot to add this day to the days I was not able to work when I was first hired.
Would me calling out & showing a doctors note be enough for me to not get fired or written up? I am a part time worker who works at the membership desk with 3 other ladies. Given, 3 of us work that day, the last girl was going home @ 7:30 and I was to close at 10. What can I do??
