Commuting and Rent Help: Save $500-$700 or commute

I have a job where it'd be a 76 round trip commute, 1-1.5 hours each way(traffic included) from my current home. My current living situation is a $600 dollar rent utilities included(family discount).

However, I wanted to know what everybody's view is on moving closer(within and possibly under 10 miles) where rent would be 1050-1300 each month. My car is in good condition, however it has 126,000 miles on it. Job is a career builder, so resigning is not an option.

Area around the office is not the best. If there are any marylanders around here, the office is located in Landover, MD.
