Quitting a job after the first day

I just finished my first day at a sales job. The work was grueling and I learned that it pays by commission. Me being a 19 year old simpleton, I had no idea what that meant until my mom broke it down for me. Now that I understand that a commission only job means "paid virually nothing" shes advising that I quit.

I honestly dont like the work there but the people in the office are really nice, and plus quitting a job on the first day isn't a good look i imagine. However, I need the money and im more comfortable with an hourly wage.

What are yall thoughts on this?
