Hi everyone,
Last week, I received an email from a company I've been interviewing with saying that they'd like to extend an offer and would like to schedule a phone call to discuss details this week.
What is the recommended approach on handling this phone call? The non-salary benefits (vacation, 401k, health insurance, etc) are public on their website, so I at least have an idea of the value of that.
If they verbally state a salary that is below my expectations, should I ask for a higher figure on the spot? Or should I ask for all the written details first and counter via email?
If they state a salary that is around my expectations, should I ask for all the written details and respond once I've had a chance to review the information?
There will be 3 people on the call on their end (2 HR, 1 hiring manager). I just don't want to cave or say anything stupid that would jeopardize my earning potential.
Thanks!
